As you can imagine from the name, the applicator has a specific form designed to fit the shape of the eye more easily. It is ideal for cat eye look because of the angled tip of the brush (30-degree edge). If you fancy a winged eyeliner look, there is no need to say how much effort it takes to get the perfect winged eye. It’s found in one single color- Trooper Black. Sharing is Caring: On Tuesday, a customer named Cheyenne Vaughan took to Facebook after disassembling a Kat Von D Tattoo Liner she had purchased. In her post, Vaughan accused the brand of "putting a sample-size eyeliner into a longer-shell tube," and then selling it to customers for "triple the price."
More from Kat Von D
As you can see in the swatch comparison below, the Kat Von D is almost as black as the Marc Jacobs one! Compared to the Stila one (which has a finer tip), it doesn't go on as ultra fine but the difference is very minute, 1 mm apart in thickness perhaps. The Etude House one doesn't really fit in with the group because it has a brush tip but I thought I'd throw it in anyway. :D Also note how opaque the finish of the Kat Von D is! These lines were drawn in one pass. No layering. No going back and forth! :) The Dupe List™ Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying the Tattoo Liner is a bad product. I have one in my drawer now and I’ve purchased it repeatedly. It is one of the best liquid liner products out there. The product simply has quite a few issues and eyeliner pens just don’t work as well as high quality eyeliner gels. But a pen is approximately 20.00 (or less) and a gel is often going to cost more plus you need a good quality brush to apply it. I’ve come to realize the gel liners produce a better result and that’s worth it to me. Plus, they are more hygienic products to use in the sensitive eye area since you are able to sanitize the application brush.
